One of the most relaxing activities you can do in your hot tub is meditate. If you don’t know how to do this yet, you can start trying it out using the following tips:
Have a goal
Figure out why you want to meditate. That way it becomes easier for you to focus on a target and work towards achieving it instead of randomly contemplating.
You may take up meditation to calm your mind, to breathe better, improve your health, control anxiety or connect with your inner self. Whatever it is, have a clear goal before you begin to practice. Source: StyleCraze
Set a timer
When you set a timer for your meditation, you don’t have to keep checking the clock. This removes a big distraction from your practice. Moreover, you won’t be sitting in meditation all day because you’ve forgotten to see how much time has elapsed. Set your timer so you can relax and enjoy your experience. Source: HuffingtonPost
Start with only two minutes
This will seem ridiculously easy, to just meditate for two minutes. That’s perfect. Start with just two minutes a day for a week. If that goes well, increase by another two minutes and do that for a week. If all goes well, by increasing just a little at a time, you’ll be meditating for 10 minutes a day in the 2nd month, which is amazing! But start small first. Source: ZenHabits
Don’t hold on to your thoughts
You might get interested or excited by some thoughts that come up in meditation. Before you know it, you’re planning the rest of your day, or thinking up some snarky comment you should have said in an argument.
It’s ok, this happens. But as soon as you notice, you want to catch yourself and redirect.
Instead of clinging to your “important” thoughts, just tell them, “I’ll come back to you in a few minutes.” If the thought is important, you’ll remember it later. Source: ArtOfLiving
